Gaara turned his head away slightly, trying to hide the fact that he was blushing. He had never been this close to anyone before. He glanced back at Dasuke, but quickly looked away again. He couldn't bring himself to do anything, he was too afraid of rejection. (I knew it, he's too much of a wimp to do anything himself in the end...)  |

Dasuke noticed Gaara looking away and paused running her hand through his hair.
'Are you ok Gaara?'
She wondered why he was doing what he was...

Gaara swallowed and finally turned back to look at Dasuke. "I'm fine..." he said softly. His pulse was racing; he wanted so much to show her how he felt but he froze in place. You idiot! he screamed inside his head, You'll never get anywhere like this! He knew the voice was right. He closed his eyes and sighed deeply, then looked at Dasuke again. He leaned closer to her, bringing his face near her's. Then he stopped and watched for any hint of recoil on her face.

Dasuke's eyes softly looked into Gaara's giving him a silent message that it was ok to continue. Her heart sped up when she had first seen him leaned forward...she wondered if she should have met him halfway. Before she could start arguing mentally with herself she leaned toward him, closing a bit more of the distance.
(XD gotta love Shukaku's input in your post lol that demon ceacks me up sometimes)

With any hint of doubt washed away, Gaara brought his hand up and rested it on the center of her back, then bridged the rest of the distance. As his lips met hers, time seemed to stand still. He slid his hand up her back to her neck, and held her close to him.

It took a few moments but Dasuke finally relaxed into Gaara's kiss. A slight shiver ran up her spine as his hand moved from her back to her neck. She gently placed her hand softly on his chest, not pushing him away but just so she didn't fully fall backwards as she held most of her weight on her left hand.
Inside though she could have sworn that he would be able to hear her heart wildly beating as her heart and mind raced. She'd never gotten this closer to a guy nor had she ever left a guy get this close to her.

Gaara wrapped his other arm around her, then brought his lips to her ear. "Whatever may happen," he whispered softly, "I'm glad that I found someone like you..." He sighed and lowered his head so that his forehead rested on her shoulder.

Dasuke let a smile appear on her face as she wrapped her arms around Gaara with her hands resting on his shoulder blades. She whispered softly into his ear.
"I'm glad I met you that day."
She truly was glad she had met him, she didn't even want to imagine where she would be if she hadn't met him that day.
As a breeze blew in from the water she felt a shiver go up her spine as she laid her head against Gaara's shoulder.

By now the sun had set almost completely. Gaara smiled softly, "Do you want to go back, or would you rather stay here?" He wasn't looking forward to rejoining the others right now if she chose to go back, with the way they had been acting before they left, but he would do whatever she wanted.

Dasuke thought for a minute, he didn't really want to rejoin the others especially if they were drunk, but if they went in the backway then they wouldn't have to deal with heir drunk friends.
"Inside sounds good."
She let a smile form on face as she looked at him.
"We can go back in the way we came so we dint have to deal with the others, if that's what you'd like better than risking going through the front door."
Dasuke knew tht the game had probably settled down now that it had started getting dark, that and the others were probably passing out or going to sleep after alcohol consumption.
