“I'm not upset. Besides, your brother could be giving his memories of Daelyn away to his hollow for his memories of you. And I cry when I lie..” she stated. She looked toward Ian. She had hoped he made the right decision.

Kazuma looked at the ground, "No matter what my brother decides, I'm sure it will be the right decision..." He glanced back at where Ian was sitting on the ground, "And the place we were heading to... We discovered a cave that amplifies the mental connection between a hollow and its host... Ian was planning to go there to sort things out with his hollow once and for all."
Ian's expression saddened, "Isn't there any way to get my memories back without sacrificing other memories?"
A minute later, Ian returned to where Kazuma and Jun were standing. "Let's get to that cave... There's something I need to do."

“Ian.... there probably isn't another way... Daelyn just simply did yoga and martial arts to channel her hollow but even that didn't help... but Daelyn's just going through puberty... becoming a woman... well let's get off that subject...” she said trying to avoid it.

Ian's expression hardened, and his mouth set into a grim line, "No, even if I have to beat it out of my hollow, I will figure this out..."
Kazuma looked at his brother sadly, "I know you will Nii-san...

Jun sighed. She didn't want Ian to know the truth about Daelyn but it couldn't be helped. She wasn't what she seemed.
“S-so... um... do you want to hear some stories...?” she choked out. She was nervous now. She couldn't spill the beans about Daelyn. At least... not now anyway...

“S-some are about... how Sumi-nii died... and how he never ages... others are about...hollows and one story is about....Daelyn....” she stated bluntly, silently cursing herself for saying that.

Ian thought for a second, and then in a barely audible voice he murmured, "I... want to hear about Daelyn..." His eyes clouded over, showing a swirling, unreadable emotion as he thought about her.

Jun gulped.
“Well, she's not Daelyn... she a forgotten and imperfect clone of this girl and I don't think you want to know who... the experiment went wrong... when they found out we put a hollow inside her, they decided to put her in a foster home. They thought they could erase the hollow... Daelyn's memories were erased by her hollow to protect her... Sumi-nii and Berri-nii's family took her in. they had no idea what happened to the poor girl... except for me and Sumi-nii... we were the ones who did that but we never thought ahead...” she shook her head of the tears that were now flowing freely down her cheeks.
“A-and now.... she might die because of it! Her body is rejecting the hollow and now... she'll loose the only family... she's ever had! And it's all our fault!” Jun collapsed to her knees and lowered her head.
“She's in a fight for her life...”

Ian's eyes widened as he listened intently. For a moment he couldn't speak, until he finally found his voice, "Wh... What? Daelyn is... An experiment? But... She... She can't die! I need her..." Tears started welling up in his eyes, "The only thing that kept me going for those three months I was gone was the promise of seeing her again..."

“It's my fault that she's going to die... all we wanted was to give you a second chance....” she shook her head.
“I thought you'd be happy... I failed, didn't I? She's fighting for you though...” more tears fell down her face.

A single tear traced down his cheek. "No... You didn't fail..." He stayed silent for a moment, "This isn't about my happiness... I don't care if Daelyn is an experiment, or a clone, or whatever! She's still a person... This is about her, and her happiness... I just want her to be happy..." At this, the tears he had held back came flooding out, and he found he couldn't stop them.
It was all Kazuma could do to watch his brother pouring out these emotions in front of him. There was nothing he could say to ease his pain, to make him feel better... And that was killing him.

“Yes... I did fail... because I...created her... and I don't know what to do! I've been told she's a monster and to kill her but I didn't... if something or someone like her... were to loose control... I...it would be my job to kill her... not Katsumi or Berri... me..” she sobbed.

Ian took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "She isn't a monster... She's not anything like that! I wont let her lose control... I will figure something out, I have to... Even if I have to sacrifice myself, I will save her..." He opened his eyes, which were now overtaken by his resolve. "But before I can do anything, I'm going to make my hollow realize his place... I can't have it getting in my way." With this, he turned and started walking in the direction of the cave.

Jun blinked and rubbed her eyes of the tears that stained her face. She stood up and looked at Ian.
“That's what she loves about you... and you love that about Daelyn, she never backs down...” she looked at Kazuma.
“I'm sorry you had to see that... I wanted him to know the truth...” she sighed and tugged on the chain.
“Let's follow your brother...” she smiled a bit.
