"You're really pushy, aren't you?" Zwei grumbled as he easily slid from the branch and onto the ground, the short chain hanging from his ankle rattling slightly as it hit the dirt. He slipped his flute into his jacket and turned to face the older male, "Where are you... Going, anyway?"

Icarus jumped down and landed on his feet with grace and nodded to the boy. “Nowhere in particular. Just a nomad, really.” he caught glimpse of the ankle brace and gave a look of confusion to Zwei. “I'm not gonna ask how but I am gonna ask if you want me to take that thing off your ankle. Is that alright?” he asked.

At that, Zwei visibly stiffened, the color draining from his already-pale features. "Don't..." he whispered in a pained voice, "Please, don't... Touch me..." His viridian eyes glazed over as he stared ahead, motionless. After a moment, he seemed to come to his senses, and flashed Icarus a sheepish smile, "Um... Sorry." But he couldn't bring himself to meet the older male's eyes.

“I get it. Just remember to respect your elders, kid. As much as I look pathetic, I kick ass.” he smiled before quickly grabbing his forearm and tugging him close enough to wrap his other hand around and place it gently in between Zwei's shoulder blades. Icarus had him in a tight embrace. “If you ever need a hug kid, or anything else, I'm here.” and with that, the hug disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Icarus started to walk away from the boy with a joyful smile on his face. “Follow me if you don't want to stay outside with the creepy crawlies and the freezing cold rain all night.” he waved a hand to dismiss it.

"Sure, sure," Zwei called after him, rolling his eyes sarcastically. He appeared nonchalant, but the brash and pushy man had already forced his way into a broken, guarded child's heart. "Onii-chan..." the boy whispered quietly to test the word on his lips, and, liking the sound of it, smiled widely as he trotted after the taller figure.

"You wanna repeat that, kid?" Icarus smiled as he looked back at the boy. He heard what Zwei said though not from his hearing but from one of his watchers. Icarus, because of his human senses, has to have a watcher for himself because he lacks his friend's hollow capabilities. The watchers are usually an owl and a wolf, and the wolf heard what the boy said. "Y'know... it seems you've put your shyness away. Good for you." He smiled.

Zwei found his face heating up in a blush when he realized he'd been caught. "N-no... And I still don't trust you," he lied, "so don't... Get a swelled head or anything." His shoes scuffed against the dirt lightly, and he turned his face, still bright red, to the side, his lips turning down in a slight pout.

"Its nothing to be embarassed about. It's fine that you want to call me that. I would like to have a brother. I've always had sisters and girl cousins." he smiled as they got to a cave. It had a futon that was placed next to a fire pit. "You can have my bed. I'll sleep on the floor." he stepped out of the way to let the boy in the cave.

The boy froze and blinked twice. After a moment, he found his voice, "That isn't... Necessary. I'm used to sleeping anywhere... I don't need a bed."
He stepped past the man and slumped against a wall, drawing his knees to his chest, "I'll sleep here."

Icarus walked over to the boy, shocked a little that the boy would want such a thing. He knelt down once he was in front of the boy and with the kindest, softest voice, he spoke to the boy. "Zwei... I'm not letting to "sleep anywhere". I want you to sleep on the futon. You don't deserve to sleep on the ground." he smiled a little.

A stubborn scowl worked it's way across Zwei's face, and his eyes narrowed grumpily. Without thinking, he grumbled, "I'm not taking your bed. Either we both sleep in it, or I sleep on the floor." His eyes widened a fraction as he realized what he'd just suggested, and he averted his eyes nervously, his lower lip still protruding in a pout.

Icarus's face never changed from the comment. "Kid... I don't care if I sleep in the same bed. It's big enough for the both of us. I just don't want you sleeping on the floor, okay? I'm not going to do anything." He smiled genuinely at Zwei.

"Okay..."
Zwei would never admit it, but he felt happiness flutter around in his stomach at the thought of another person, a type of older brother, near him. A wide, childish grin worked it's way across the boy's face as he turned away and sat, cross-legged, on the ground at the mouth of the cave, looking out toward the trees outside. In his mind, he debated playing his flute, but instead simply closed his eyes and listened to the gentle sounds carried on the breeze, feeling truly content for the first time in many years.

Icarus sighed and sat on his futon. "What is it? You okay?" he asked looking up at Zwei.

"I'm fine," Zwei replied with a genuine smile. A sense of calmness and security seemed to envelop him, and he rested his head against the side of the cave. Within a few moments, he had fallen asleep.
