A Runaway (Kat, Dark)

Tamika

I walked along the ground in the white dress that i had packed before running away. I looked around watching the animals that were around "do not leave stay " I said to the animals around me before going out to a soft place in the grass to sit. As i was sitting birds flew down and sat on my shoulders, also a few land animals came out. I stroked their back until they ran off as a wild cat came out and sat down at my side "hello girl" i said to her and put my hand her forehead. It was then i thought i heard something larger coming my way.

Zoe

The animal was huge, and as it came my way I unshealthed my sword and held it up defensively. It struck a massive paw my way and I ducked my caramel hair flying over my face. I blew it out of the way and began to run, ducking under the trees as the bear crashed along behind me. I had to get to somewhere where I had more space. Finally, a clearing. I didnt wait to see what was in it but swung round to face the animal and backed into the meadow. My green eyes were foccused intently on the animal that was taking in rasping breaths.

Once again it ran at me, I ducked, rolled and sat upwards bringing my sword down on its paw. It howled in pain and I backed away intently watching it. It dived for me again and I rolled my eyes in disbelief, the chances these animals took. "Aah! I brought my swored down and heard a nasty crunch as it slammed into the neck. With one last furious glare at me it fell with a ground shaking thud. I froze, whirled and turned to point my swored at...

"Who are you?!!" I said feircly. The fright she had given me! I glared, and leant down to wipe the blood of the swored. "Urgh!" I pushed a strand of caramel coloured hair out of my large, almond green eyes and looked up towards the girl smiling radiantly. "I'm Zoe"

Tamika

My eyes opened wide as I saw what was going on. I watched the animal and this girl fight and just as I was about to yell stop she took the killing strike. I watched as she whirled around to face me the wild cat still sat at my side "sorry if I scared you in any way" I said after she feircly asked who I was.
I waited until she had finished off what she said the next few times before i answered the first thing she said "who am I, I am Tamika who has a way with all animals if they trust me, Zoe" I said to her then stood up with a smile smile and walked towards her the wild cat followed me "you are still coming do you want a name from me" I asked her as the cat slowly nodded her you head I said "then I shall call Xena" I smiled at the wild cat then turned my face back to the other girl Zoe.

Rakuto collapsed against a tree, clutching the bark tighter and tighter until his hand bled. His breath was heavy and rasping, and his vision was beginning to blur. "Damn it!" he swore, "If only I had been stronger..." He staggered to his feet and grasped his circular blade with his other hand. "Why did it have to happen? Why punish her because of me?" His anger and desperation caused flames to flare up around him, and soon his weapon was blazing brightly. "Damn it all!" He flung his weapon blindly, and it seared its way through several trees, lighting them on fire as the trunks fell to the forest floor. Soon the whole area around him was set alight. He staggered forward, making his way through the inferno. His anger slowly dulled. Everything was pointless now. He had no purpose for living. He had wandered the whole way here just to discover that. The flames died down with his emotions, until all that remained was an ugly black scar that marred the beauty of the forest. After walking several more yards, he saw two blurry shapes in front of him. "You... Who are-" Before he could finish his sentence, he collapsed with a thud into the dirt. His outburst had finally taken its toll on his body.

Tamika

I looked down at Xena who hissed turned to show me what it was. I heard someone talk the turned to were Xena was looking, at seeing it was a person i ran towards who ever it was the cat bounded by my side to were he now laid. I put my hand on his head and frowned and looked at his sword then at his bleeding hand. I got up and walked over to a small bush and grab a few leaves to wrap his hand in. it was the kind i used on my self, i keeled down and wrapped his hand "hey Zoe give me a hand please" i said then grab my back pack and pulled out a small water skin and let a little in trickle into his mouth then waited to see if he would wake up. I only had just done what i did out of what i would always do wen i hurt myself or found a injured animal.

Zoe

I smiled at Tamika but the smile faded quickly as I saw flames rising up around us. I moved closer to Tamika drawing my sword, this fire wasn’t natural. Suddenly Tamika left my side and began to run away. For a moment I didn’t realise that she had left, and then I swung my body around and began to run through the smoke covered forest. My eyes watered as the smoke stung them. Making my way over towards Tamika I saw that she was standing over a body.

I collapsed to my knees and saw that it was a young boy, around my age. Tamika came back with a handful of knees. I nodded appreciatively. “We have to get him away, he could suffocate because of the smoke; we all could” I knew that already, the smoke was beginning to dull my senses, my breath caught in my throat a few times. I rose to my feet steadily and, grabbing the man’s outstretched arms I began to drag him away.

“Tamika, bring the sword” It was a command, I didn’t need any help, I was trained for this sort of thing, but still... The teenager’s body was heavy enough without me finding it so hard to breathe. As I stumbled around the forest watching as the trees fell down around me I called to Tammi. “Over here!” I knew that she would find her way, she was smart enough, and the animals would help her. I dragged the limp body into the cave. It was tiny, only big enough to hold about 5 people lying down.

I lay the teenager down on the hard ground. “What have you done to yourself” I shook my head. I ripped the leaves around his hand of and looked over the wound my hands pressing gently at the ripped skin. I grabbed my shirt and ripped the bottom half of. I didn’t know where the closest water supply was, and I didn’t want to leave him here alone, so I dabbed at the wound until the blood was gone, then wrapped the cloth around it. I sat down beside him looking down into the face. Something wasn’t there, something missing... I sighed holding his hand my large green eyes wide with concern. “Tammi” I said calmly regaining my posture. “Bring the sword here, the least we can do is make the boy feel safe when he wakes”... If he wakes

Rakuto's eyes opened slowly and his vision cleared. He saw a figure standing over him, "You're..." But then he scrambled backwards and knocked cloth away. "No... You're not..." He jumped to his feet, his eyes wide with distrust. "Get away from me!" He grabbed his blade and shot out from the cave.(It's not really a sword, its a blade in the shape of a circle-ish, sorta... idk) When he reached the charred trees, he leaned against one and panted heavily. He had come all this way, but he still had no way of knowing who he could trust. Would the ones who had killed her followed him? Then again, what did it matter if they killed him too? He stared at his hand; the jagged cuts were alien to him. Everything here was alien to him.

He sat down with his back against the tree and covered his face with his hand. If only he could ask her... Did she hate him because of what had happened? If she could have done it again, would she have chosen to stay away from him? He was sure she would have. If only he hadn't expressed his feelings, if she had never known he loved her, she wouldn't have been killed. It was all his fault. Because she was loved by a monster, she payed the price. Rakuto would never make that mistake again.

Zoe

When I looked down the boys eyes had opened. He yelped and stumbled to his feet grabbing the blade, and ran out of the cave. I watched him go remembering how wide with distrust his eyes had been. I had to get him back, it wasn’t safe... he wasn’t safe. I ran back outside looking towards where Tammi stood. I walked up to her and took her hands. “Stay here Tammi, the woods aren’t safe, I’ll be back soon” I looked around. "Maybe you can find some firewood" I smiled and turned making my way into the charred woods, that were still smoking from the fire. When I saw him he was leaning against a tree his face contorted with anguish. I hid behind a tree my form shifting to invisibility. Then I began to come at him from behind. Granted he would not be able to sense or see me. I knew his power was fire. I snuck across the ground without making a sound. Apparently he still wasn’t aware of me. I leant down my sword still in my hand and, without warning swung it round and held it up to the boy’s throat, though it was invisible it hadn’t disappeared. I was visible once again, as was the sword. I leant my head close to his ear and whispered. “Don’t move” The blade of the sharp sword was pressing against his throat, but not hard enough to draw blood. I inhaled and walked round in front of him taking my blade from his neck and pointing it at his chest. I tossed my thick caramel blonde sheet of hair out of my green eyes and stared. “Don’t move” My voice was kind and calm. “I’m Zoe, don’t worry, your safe here” I smiled kindly my face glowing with beauty. “What’s your name?” I asked kindly. I stepped back but still pointed by blade at him, further away though, in case he tried anything funny... I was wearing a thin shirt with silver armour over it the two sides strapped together. On the lower portion of my body I was wearing more silver armour. But with the armour, my hair blowing out behind me and my long legs I was beautiful, but that was expected. I was... Zoe.

Rakuto watched her with cold eyes, not making a move. "Get that sword away from me," he said with disgust, and small flames began to grow at their feet. "Anyway, do you really think I care if you kill me at this point? Go ahead, there's no reason for a monster to live anyway." If I die, will it offer you any peace? After all, you died because of me...

Get that sword away from me

I raised an eyebrow contemplating. Then he went on to say something about it not mattering if he did die. I rolled my eyes exasperatedly. I didn't move the sword but glared at the boy. With a sigh I pulled my sword away, "Go on, pick up your blade" It was still lieing on the ground at the boys feet. I smiled wrily. "Get those bl**dy flames away from me" I watched the man for a moment. "Come with me" It wasnt a question, it was an order.

Tamika

I watched every thing that happened up to were i was told to find fire wood "fine" i said then walked off not to far and did find some nice fire wood and took it back and noted that we would need food and water. I walked back to were my back pack was and i found it unburnt and smiled "this is a great day" i said to no one then picked it up and checked what was inside yep water but no food must have eaten it all, must get some more i thought then walked back to the cave were i put my pack down and walked out in a shirt and pants.

I walked on and found Xena having a small meal of her own "hey girl i need your help, do you mind catching me and my two friends some food to eat" i said to her and she nodded her head happily. i watched as she ran off then went back to the cave and set up a place for the fire and got things from around me that i could use for cooking.

Rakuto glared at the girl, "I'm not going anywhere." He slumped back against the tree and let the flames die out. "I'm just going to stay right here until my time is up... So if you're not going to do anything you can just leave."

Pursing my lips I leant down against the tree. "Listen" I said breathing. "Your in no fit state to go wandering around the forest" I tried to glare down my nose at him but sighed dejectadly. "Please?" I said. I sighed. "What would it take you to get your *ss back to that cave?" I stared at him inquiringly

Tamika

I tapped my foot waiting for Zoe and the boy to get back, but it was seamed to take a while for them to do so. I saw Xena come back with a limp young deer hanging from her mouth "this might make them hurry up" i said then took it and cleaned the carcass and started to get the meat ready to cook. I grab to stone and stuck them together a few times then i had a fire going and the meat would finally get cooked. I knew that the smell would travel to Zoe and the boy, i would have looked for them but i needed to keep my eye on the food.

Rakuto looked up at the girl and gave a hollow smile. "What would it take? How about rewriting history?" He turned his head away and stared up at the sky. Doushite?
