Tsubaki turned her body so the claw struck her shoulder, the massive force behind the large paw shaking her small frame. Then her arm looped around it and gripped it tightly, holding the tiger in place. She grinned, and with her free hand, she slashed downward.

Kathryn threateningly growled at the young girl when she latched onto her paw. At the last moment she was able to twist her body slightly away as Tsubaki's sword came down at her...
Just when she thought she had escaped the hit fully... she felt the tip of the sword slid down the side stomach area of her tiger form. She howled in rage as blood started to fall from her side, a bit of it staining the beautiful fur around the area. She snapped at the girl, her teeth aiming to rake against her arm holding the sword as she felt her legs give out from under her.
It wouldn't matter how hard she would try to get up because with her two injuries... she would not have the strength to even fight back in a few minutes. She mentally screamed out her apology to Touya for not keeping him safe... and for the possibility of leaving him.
Her breathing was heavy as she continued snarling at Tsubaki. She was hating the fact that the girl had shown up at the moment that she had... While at the same time she was hating herself for being struck down by one younger than her...

Tsubaki let go of her sword and jumped back, creating distance between her and the tiger. She felt a splitting pain in her arm, and looked down to find a bloody mess where her hand had been. Her eyes widened in rage. Out of reflex, she brought her foot out to catch the tiger in the face, but her foot was stopped short.
When Tsubaki looked to see what had stopped her, she gasped. Her brother stood in front of Kathryn, clenching her foot tightly, a look of pure rage on his face. His lips moved slowly, "I know who you are..."
She could barely make out the words, but when she did she allowed a hopeful smile to cross her face, "Then... Then we can go back to living like that, just you and me..."
"No." His mouth set in a line, and he glared at her without mercy. "You may be my sister, but if I have to, I'll kill you." His words were cold, but a hint of sadness showed in his eyes. Yes, in order to protect the one he loved, he would go back to being who he was before, just once... He could be a killer if it was for her.

Kathryn's breathing was still slightly hastened and as she continued to lose a bit of blood. After a few more moments she couldn't maintain her tigress for and was returned back to her normal self, clothes and all. Her right hand went to her side as she attempted to halt the spilling of blood from the wound in her side. Her eyes were now silently trained on Touya, watching his movements to see what he would do. And although she wanted to have his sister hurt for thinking of doing what she had, she had a feeling that if Touya killed his sister to protect her, he would end up regretting it later.
"..Tou..ya"
Her voice seemed as if it sounded barely above a whisper and her eyes still held that apologetic look. Simply because at this moment she wasn't even sure if she had the strength to fight off the darkness creeping onto her for much longer, even though she never wanted to leave his side ever, the drag of 'sleep' was strong and she was feeling oh so tired that going to sleep for awhile sounded good... However she had this knowing feeling that if she allowed that 'sleepy' pull to get her in it's full grasp she may not wake up, and she didn't want to leave him....

Touya could tell Kathryn needed help, fast, so he threw Tsubaki as hard as he could and ran to her side. He pulled out a role of gauze and gently moved her hand from the area, and tore away the tattered cloth. Then he started wrapping it tightly to stop the bleeding.
Tsubaki hit a tree and slid to the ground. "Dammit," she muttered darkly, "I should kill her..." But Touya heard her. "Try it and I will kill you. Even if you are my sister..." His piercing eyes drilled straight through her.
Tsubaki shivered. Why was it turning out this way? Had she not calculated right? She shook her head. Her calculations had not been wrong... There had just been factors she had not anticipated. That meant she needed a new plan. She fell to her knees, tears welling in her eyes, "I'm so sorry, Touya... I just wanted you to live with me like before... I wanted you to love me..."
Touya sighed and shook his head, "I can't go back to that time, I've already turned my back on my past..."
Tsubaki looked devastated, then smiled meekly, "I know brother, I truly am sorry..." Then she turned and disappeared amongst the trees.
As she walked away, she chuckled to herself, "Just you wait. Next time, you will be mine... I don't plan on losing twice."

Kathryn winced slightly as Touya tightly wrapped a roll of gaze to stop the bleeding of her wound. A barely there smile slipped onto her lips as her eyes glanced towards him. "And here i was..... supposed to be... the one to be helping you...Tou...ya" Her voice was tired as her eyes were half open, quietly watching him.

He quieted her softly, "You don't need to talk... I'm gonna get you some help." He continued wrapping the gauze, struggling to tie it with only one hand. When he finally succeeded, he pulled her to his chest gently and picked her up, careful not to put any stress on the wound, and jogged toward the town. Hopefully they would have a hospital where she could get professional medical help.

Kathryn held a small, weak smile as she glanced towards Touya. "I was supposed to be the one helping you... now look at what happened... I got myself on Death's door basically and you're still horrible injured..." Her eyes glanced away for a bit, upset with herself that she hadn't been able to keep both her and Touya safe... She noticed the Hospital was getting closer... and soon she felt someone trying to take her from Touya, probably one of the nurses trying to get her to where they can get her patched up... Meanwhile another one worked on leading Touya to his own room to patch his arm back up...

Touya reluctantly handed Kathryn over to a doctor, but when they tried to bring him to another room, he flat out refused. "I'm staying right here. My arm is fine, I'm not leaving." Finally, they gave up.
He sat next to her bed, keeping his eyes fixed on her face. Maybe... Maybe he should leave before she woke up... She would forget about him eventually, and it seemed like her connection with him only brought her trouble. But as he gazed at her face, he knew he couldn't bring himself to leave.

It took a little while, but eventually Kathryn's eyes started to flicker open. The first thing she did when she noticed his arm had not been fixed. "T...Touya... Your arm... why did you not let them help you..." He tired eyes were still shaking off the sleep as she searched Touya's face, wanting to know he would be alright...

He smiled softly, "One of the doctors examined it while I was waiting for you to wake up... The ligaments were torn, and all the nerves were shot. They said I'm not going to regain movement in it..." He placed his good hand on it gently, "But... At least it's still attached. I don't mind not being able to move it..."
Touya reached his hand out and touched his fingers to her cheek, "Anyway, don't worry about that. You were hurt really badly, so just think about getting better, okay?"

Kathryn's eyes closed softly as her head softly leaned against his fingers, enjoying his touch. Her eyes opened a few moments later as she watched him. "You need to get better yourself, Touya.... I have a feeling that they are wrong about you not getting movement.....back into your arm." She smiled softly as her eyes closed once more, letting out a soft breath as sleep started to drag her into a soft sleep.

Touya sighed softly and leaned back in his chair. His damaged arm hung over the armrest limply, and he brought his good hand over to it and touched his shoulder. He really was tired... But he couldn't bring himself to sleep until Kathryn had calmed down. He leaned forward over her as she began to sleep and brushed his lips against her forehead, then rested his cheek on her chest. Soon, he too had fallen asleep.
The doctor walked into the room to find them both sleeping. A small smile spread across his face, and he flicked the lights off and left the room, closing the door behind him quietly.

When light of the morning started to stream softly into the room, Kathryn's eyes flickered. She made a soft noise, having enjoyed her deep sleep. Yet, as soon as she started waking up, she felt as if someone was resting their head against her. With a soft smile, she hesitantly started to run her fingers through Touya's hair, a soft smile on her face. she didn't even mind the fact that he was using her as a pillow, though she winced slightly as she went to take a deep breath, feeling the stitches in her stomach pulling slightly.
